Great time on the island! It was so good to be back! So nice to have my sister, Emily, and her girls. We all had a wonderful time visiting!
The girls did a whole lot of exploring.

We took lots of pictures by the water.

Things are getting better and better around here. We are falling into a good routine and we venture out almost every day! My days are insanely busy. I don't think I've been this busy since I waited tables out of college! I think I'm running on fumes but I love it. My two little ones continue to delight me every single day. I wish I could take more photographs but it seems like I'm either holding the baby or he's sleeping. Today I had a rare moment outside to snap a few shots while we waited for my sister to arrive. We are all heading up to the island this weekend. It will be the first time since Thanksgiving!

Have a great holiday weekend everyone!

We had SO much fun it St. Louis! It was great to be back! I don't know where our time went. It went by so fast. We were so busy. The weather was gorgeous and it was wonderful to see all of our family and friends. Magnolia had a blast playing with all of her cousins and the trip down and back was a breeze.

It was so much fun going to the zoo. Magnolia was completely overwhelmed by everything there. She hardly talked at all, she was just trying to take it all in. Above she's standing in front of the seals. Below she's riding the carousel with her daddy.

We pretty much stayed outside the whole time we were there. Here's Magnolia in Nani's front yard.
Baby George got a lot of attention from his Aunt Alicia. Here she is holding him.
Her son, Musa, took this picture!
Musa, a real daredevil, ate this worm! Still turns my stomach when I think of it!
One really hot day we hung out in Nani's backyard. Magnolia played in the wading pool and I hung out with the baby under the umbrella.
Magnolia's Uncle Rob is a firefighter. We made a stop at his firehouse where she got a tour, a fire hat, and stickers.
Magnolia loved her playing with her cousins! We had such a good time at all the parties and dinners shared with families and friends. We got to make our rounds at all our favorite St. Louis stops. I got to shop at my favorite stores. We walked every morning to our favorite coffee house. It was such a nice visit! I have to say it is a little hectic traveling with a baby but it was good practice and we did it!

We're settling in much better around here. The past few days have been good. I'm starting to see a pattern emerge in our days and patterns in George's fussy times. I'm learning to accept that he cries, he's a newborn. It's hard for me to hear it, I just want to fix it. I know I'll get used to it more and more. We ran a lot of errands this week and it was so much easier. He's the fussiest in the evenings, right before bed. I've been putting him in my sling and walking to calm him down. I've laid down the law with Magnolia as far as her crying when he cries moments. She knows I'm not buying it anymore and I suppose it's gotten old for her too. Now when he cries she just covers her ears or walks off to play in silence. :) George captured this shot of the two of them this morning. Magnolia told him all about the sea creatures in her book. He's not all that impressed.

We're all packed and ready to go on our trip to St. Louis. It's been 9 months since we've taken such a long trip and I can't wait! Happy Mother's Day to all of you mommies out there! I'll see you in a week!

I cannot believe George is one month already! He's doing great, he's waking up a lot more, eating a lot more, and getting fussy a lot more! We're all trying to settle into this new normal and find our new places in the family. It's definitely trickier with two and I'm still trying to figure it all out. Getting out is still too daunting. We do it, but only if necessary. Magnolia continues to be a very sweet big sister to her brother but she also feels the pain of having to share her mommy and daddy. All in all she's handling it well. Wish I got a better one month picture of George but it's near impossible since I pretty much carry him all day in my sling. These were the few moments that I wasn't carrying him today.
Today my sister and her two little girls came to visit. It was a beautiful day and the girls loved playing together. My sister is due to have a third daughter in just 6 weeks, we can't wait to meet her!

We are getting ready for our first trip as a family of four. We're heading to St. Louis to visit family. It's been a year and we can't wait to see everyone and experience more of a spring than we have here! Hoping the long road trip won't be as hard as I imagine it to be, we'll see!
