Magnolia has bronchitis. Rough rough night. High temp, listless baby, and very fast panting/breathing. She gave us the scare of our lives. Went to a clinic and then to the hospital to rule out pnuemonia. Back and forth in the back of cabs on the crazy Guangzhou city streets. Exhausted, nearly midnight and finally got her temp to break via suppository. She's a trooper and is pretty drugged up now. Lots and lots of rest. Not going anywhere for a LONG time.
I have a picture of her back in bed in the hotel to show it to her someday of this wild adventure. I will write and post more pics tomorrow. We are well, safe and sound now.

Dear Lucy and George,
You must have been terrified. What an awful scare. I am so glad all is well now, and that you are in such comfortble surroundings, and I'm sure you are watching over Magnolia like hawks, listening for every small sound she makes, noticing every little thing that could signal more trouble. I'm praying that she'll make a very quick recovery.
Please, please do everything you can that is sootihing to YOU! A tiny break for each of you, even though being away from Magnolia is something you probably don't want to do, will help relieve the stress of this emotionally demanding time, and it is important for both of you to be as anxiety-free as possible.
Do spell one another a bit--get a massage, do Tai Chi, or some yoga--perhaps have tea with another parent on break...?
All my love,
Momla
Sending Magnolia my well wishes. I sure do hope that she gets better! Those scary moments in time are difficult and challanging-trust your gut to get you thru those minutes/hours until she is back to health. I check in on you regularly and am still in awe of what you all are experiencing! It seems clear that you are enjoying your time! Love Emily
That's the worst even when you are home. Glad she is ok. Thanks for keeping us informed.
It sure is scary when they have a temperature, and such a relief when it comes down. A friend said to me once, you know a cold can knock down a grown man, think what's it like for a little kid. I never thought of it that way; but everyone also always says "aren't those kids tough" and they are. Let me join you in hoping she feels better as soon as possible. And here's hoping you don't catch it. Your posts re: the food make me hungry, I started reading congee recipes, there seem to be infinte ways of preparing it from complex to simple. News from Hidden Creek - very little rain falling, what does is welcome. The apple tree next to your patio is abundant with obviously ripe fruit, which stand out from over 100' away (view through our patio door). Birch leaves have been changing and falling since you left. Once again - looking forward to seeing you and meeting M.J.C.J.!
